LEXX Productions is premiering a “creepy” new play by Alexandra Howard and Cole Hilder called “Highway”. FRIENDS of the National Library Creative Arts Fellow for 2016, Micharne Cloughley, has used oral historian Hazel de Berg’s interviews as the basis of her new play, “My Strong Female Ego”, to be read by Karen Vickery and Amanda McGregor in a session where Cloughley will also speak about her creative process. ART Song Canberra’s next recital is “Lyric Rhapsody”, featuring soprano Merlyn Quaife, bass-baritone Nicholas Dinopoulos and Andrea Katz on piano. At Wesley Music Centre, 3pm, Sunday, August 28, Tickets only  at the door.

HELEN Swan’s choral group The Resonants, will perform original home-grown works, including a “Gloria”, composed by the new head of composition at the ANU School of Music, Kenneth Lampl (the “CityNews” cover subject, August 4), which he has dedicated to the choir.
