AUSTRALIAN duo Sneaky Sound System are the first act announced for the 2012 Australia Celebrates Live concert.

The concert, formerly known as Australia Day Live will be held on the lawns of Parliament House on Wednesday,  January 25.

Australia Celebrates Live is Canberra’s biggest free outdoor concert, attracting about 35,000 people every year.  This is the ninth year the concert has run.

Sneaky Sound System hits include ‘Pictures’ and ‘It’s Not My Problem’. The duo’s debut self-titled album ‘Sneaky Sound System’ went multi-platinum and took home two ARIA Awards for best dance release and breakthrough artist.

National Australia Day Council CEO Warren Pearson says Sneaky Sound System is the first act to be announced in a high profile, high-energy line up of both acts and hosts for the 2012 concert.

“Sneaky Sound System is the perfect example of the amazing musical talent we have here in Australia. Canberrans who were due to see Sneaky Sound System play on New Years Eve will no doubt be pleased to know they can still see them perform at Australia Celebrates Live. They are the first of many acts to be announced for Australia Celebrates Live over the coming weeks.” he said.

“Wednesday the 25th of January will be a work day in 2012 so start planning the celebrations with your work colleagues, friends and family and kick off your Australia Day celebrations with an evening of great Australian musical talent on the lawns of Parliament House.”
