The Bomb Response Team was called to Evatt this morning after a householder discovered a suspicious package at about 7.30.
Police from Belconnen evacuated residents from Cawthorn Crescent, Small Place and Badenoch Crescent at around 9.30 before the Bomb Response Team assessed the package and rendered it safe.
Residents were able to return to their homes just after midday.
