Canberra man wins big lotto prize

A CANBERRA man has won a division one share in the last Saturday Lotto QuickPick – a whopping $825,551.00.

The man, who is in his thirties, bought his winning QuickPick ticket from Newsfront Newsagency at Westfield Belconnen. He hadn’t checked his ticket until the Monday.

He said he was a regular Powerball and Oz Lotter player but only occasionally plays Saturday Lotto.

“That should pay off my HECS debt,” he said. “I won’t buy anything too lavish, I’m not that kind of person.”

The Canberra man plans to invest his winnings and ensure he has enough to live comfortably; he hopes to buy a house and take an overseas holiday but will not change his lifestyle too much.

Five winners shared Saturday Lotto’s $4 million division one prize, along with the winning ticket sold in the ACT one winning ticket was sold in Queensland, one in Victoria, one in Western Australia and one in South Australia.
