Nigel Wearne returns to Canberra

MELBOURNE singer-songwriter, Nigel Wearne returns to Canberra this week with his own intimate blend of alternative country and folk.

Wearne uses his own handcrafted guitars and owes a bit to Hank Williams, Townes Van Zandt, Steve Earle, Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie.

His songs tell of bank robbers, poets and, yes, eggs.

He’ll be joined on Friday by local performer  Owen Campbell, known for his gutsy Louisiana-style vocals and slide guitar.

Nigel Wearne and Owen Campbell, at The Front Gallery, Wattle St Lyneham, Friday, May 18. Doors open 8pm, $10 entry.
