Woman arrested after Kippax robbery

POLICE have arrested a 19-year-old Phillip woman who allegedly robbed a woman at the Kippax Fair Shopping Centre yesterday afternoon. 

Around 5.25pm two woman were sitting outside a restaurant when they were approached by three women, one of whom grabbed the victim’s bag and attempted to run off with it.

The victim’s friend got up from the table and pursued the offender who turned around and threw the bag back at her.

A second woman has approached the victim’s friend and pushed her to the ground twice before striking  her in the face.

Police later located three women matching the description of the offenders and arrested them before being taken to Belconnen Police Station.

The assaulted victim did not require any medical treatment.

The 19-year-old woman was charged with one count of robbery. The other women are assisting police with their enquiries.
