“Created from Ego” at ANCA Gallery will be his first solo exhibition in Australia.

With over 25 years of artistic experience, experience, Kim favours “pure abstraction,” and asks viewers to interpret his brilliantly-coloured paintings as “an expression of the absolute, the essence of all things, or perhaps a catalyst to initiate spiritual renewal.”

The artist also says, “My work comes from an unconscious and intuitive part of myself, and to express the work using too much language or words would distort the genuineness, and directness, of the work.”

Kim adopts what he calls an almost automatic approach to the process of making, experimenting with the visual language of form, colour and line to create his energetic abstract works.

Abstract paintings by David Kim, at ANCA Gallery, 1 Rosevear Place Dickson, 12-5pm Wednesday-Sunday. Until Sunday October 27.
