CARTOONIST First Dog on the Moon is in his hometown of Canberra for Budget week with his one-person show “Cartoobs and other typos.”

“First Dog” (Andrew Marlton) is a Walkley Award winning political cartoonist and self-proclaimed National Treasure, and is  performing in the nation’s capital fresh from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Adelaide Fringe.

He’ll be performing “Cartoobs and other typos” on May 16 and 17 at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House where, in 2011, he  won the Museum’s Political Cartoonist of the Year award.

“Cartoobs” purports to induct audiences into the mysteries of cartooning, while “battling a daily deadline and having the voices of hundreds of marsupials inside your head”.

“Cartoobs and other typos” won the ‘Tour Ready Award’ at the 2012 Melbourne Fringe.

“Cartoobs and other typos” at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House, 6pm, on 16 and 17,  bookings to trybooking.com/Booking/BookingEventSummary.aspx?eid=48035
