Ginninderra image wins Tuggeranong award

AN UNUSUAL image of an ethereal being rising from Lake Ginninderra has won The 2013 Capital Chemist Art Award’s main prize, one of Tuggeranong Arts Centre’s main events in the arts year.

The two award winners, judged by Helen Maxwell and Mark Bayly, were announced today at the newly refurbished Arts Centre.

The 2013 Capital Chemist Art Award overall winner of $2,000 was “Our Lady of Lake Ginninderra,” a pigment print on rag paper by Brenda Runnegar, whose exhibition “Mungo Woman” is, coincidentally running at Belconnen Arts  Centre unti tomorrow.

The one-off 2013 Capital Chemist Centenary of Canberra Award of  $500 went to Dianna Budd for her collage work, “Canberry”.

The award exhibition opening was performed by Capital Chemist Group Business Manager Peter Downing.
