One hundred years of Canberra women

OVER one hundred women were honoured for making a difference to Canberra at the international women’s day lunch on Friday.

Hosted by UN Women Australia, the lunch celebrated the Centenary year by acknowledging women who made a “significant difference” to the territory.

Co-ordinator Gai Brodtmann said nominees did not need to be high profile, and that many were “quiet achievers.”

“They come from any and all walks of life, the more the better: sports, arts, hospitality, welfare, business, health, education, unions, faith, disability, community, and government,” Ms Brodtmann said.
