Coe disappointed by rehab centre call-in

THE decision by the Minister for Planning Mick Gentleman to call-in the Ngunnawal Bush Healing Farm is disappointing says Alistair Coe.

“Minister Gentleman is aware that there is considerable community unease about the specific location of the project, yet he is choosing to shut-down the process by calling it in.

“Whilst there is merit in a Bush Healing Farm, the location has to be appropriate for all stakeholders, including the proponents.

“Ensuring that there is community acceptance for the project and location is important for long-term support for the Healing Farm. By calling-in the development, the Minister has heightened the controversy surrounding the location.

“The call-in powers are designed to rarely be used. I urge the Minister to publish immediately the rationale for why he silenced the community in his own electorate,” Mr Coe concluded.
