Dunlop pergola blaze

A pergola has caught alight at a house in Dunlop.

Firefighters are working to contain the fire from spreading further.

Two ACT Fire & Rescue pumpers are on scene at Thornhill Crescent.

The Emergency Triple Zero (000) call was made at 8:41am.

Update to come.

The fire has been extinguished and crews are conducting mopping up operations.

There was no one home at the time of the incident.

The fire extended slightly into the roof space of the single level home but was brought under control quickly by firefighters.

The entertainment area under the pergola was extensively damaged.

The damage bill is estimated at $20,000.

Investigations into the cause are now underway.
