Five new members for the place names committee

MICK Gentleman has announced that, following the first public call for nominations, there are five new members of the influential ACT Place Names Committee.

“Place names are a great way for the Australian Capital Territory to publicly commemorate the positive work done by many well known and lesser known people who have influenced our lives for the better,” Mick said.

The new members are:

  • Ms Samantha Faulkner,
  • Ms Anne McGrath,
  • Mr Granville (Allen) Mawer,
  • Dr Alan Roberts
  • Ms Marilyn Truscott.

Continuing members are:

  • Mr Bill Hirst,
  • Dr Jay Arthur,
  • Ms Natalie Broughton,
  • Dr David Headon,
  • Dr Jill Waterhouse,
  • Ms Alex Sloan
  • Ms Roslyn Brown.

“I would also like to thank the retiring members for their important contribution to Canberra’s public place names,” Mick said.
