Suspicious fire in Ngunnawal

ACT Policing are investigating a Ngunnawal house fire which was deemed suspicious and handed over by ACT Fire and Rescue today (Sunday, September 28).

About 10.30am, ACT Policing received a report a house fire in Carina Street, Ngunnawal, where smoke was seen coming from the building. ACT Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the blaze.

ACT Policing Gungahlin Patrol members attended and assisted ACT Fire and Rescue in maintaining a cordon around the site.

ACT Ambulance Service also attended, but no injuries have been reported at this stage. The house was vacant at the time of the fire.

The extent of the damage is yet to be determined.

AFP Forensic Services will assist ACT Policing in an analysis of the scene and the circumstances surrounding the fire will be investigated by Criminal Investigations detectives.
