The Toy Run is coming on December 13

THE Motorcycle Riders Association ACT is gearing up for their Annual Toy Run, now in its 34th year and hosted by Old Parliament House, in support of the Salvation Army.

This event has raised tens of thousands of dollars in cash and gifts over the years and has been growing steadily with the reinvigorated move to motorcycling, and this year should be no exception.

From the 1st to 19th of December, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House is celebrating the spirit of giving by hosting a giant Salvation Army giving tree in iconic King’s Hall. Visitors are welcome to donate gifts, toys or non-perishable items.

Over 1000 bikes and riders are expected to gather at Old Parliament House on Saturday 13 December from 08:00am for breakfast in the lead up to the 2014 Motorcyclist’s Toy Run commencing at 10:00am.

Riders are invited to dress up for the ride and sponsorship is provided to reward them for the best decorated bike, rider and pillion. They have a perpetual trophy for the Club with the biggest attendance, and a perpetual trophy for the largest Corporate entry, to add to the fun of the morning.

The ACT community is invited to come along, cheer the riders, see the decorated bikes. You can meet the riders at Old Parliament House before they leave, watch them ride along Adelaide Ave or join them for the presentation of gifts back at Old Parliament House. You too can bring a gift or make a donation and participate at Old Parliament House as every dollar raised or present given will benefit Canberrans in need.
