Bookshop says goodbye to Civic

CLOUSTON & HALL Booksellers have written to customers to say they are, “with sadness”, closing the doors of the Civic shop in Garema Place at the end of June.

Clouston and hall logoThe academic remainder shop has been open there since 1985.

“However, this is not the end for us in Canberra: our Fyshwick warehouse remains open to the public and the catalogue mail order and web order business will continue,” says the note from Sally, Tom and Jack Clouston.

The family is opening a pop-up shop in Goulburn from next week until mid-July.

“It’s not all doom and gloom we really see a long-term future for our business,” they say.

“Unfortunately the city shop is not a part of that vision. However,  we do think we will have shopfronts in Canberra in the future.”
