“A MOST inspirational day of literary talks” is how local writer and arts facilitator Suzanne Kiraly sees the Canberra Readers, Writers & Storytellers Festival, coming to the National Library tomorrow, Wednesday July 22.
The array of speakers, she says, is “stunning” and includes Sydney writer for young people, Susanne Gervay, probably best known for her “I am Jack” series, Peter Rees of “Anzac Girls,” and the author of “The Rosie Project”, Graeme Simsion, a regular these days at writers’ events around Australia.
Confirming Canberra’s reputation as a centre of writing and storytelling, the mini-festival will feature 23-year-old Rachael Stevens, author of “The Skeleton Diaries, ” young adult fiction writer Jack Heath and the eloquent Brian Hungerford, once described by the ABC’s Margaret Throsby as “One of the world’s finest storytellers.”
