ACT Policing is treating the death of a woman in Gordon this morning (Tuesday, March 17) as a homicide.

Police were called to a residence on Knoke Ave in Gordon around 3.10am, responding to reports of a deceased woman at the location.

Upon attending, police found a female victim who had suffered critical injuries and was deceased.

A crime scene was established at the location and a homicide investigation was commenced. A man is assisting police with enquiries. AFP Forensics Crime Scene Investigators are making a thorough examination of the crime scene.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or can provide information and have not yet spoken to police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
