ACT Policing is investigating the discovery of a shotgun found in Kambah today, (Sunday 23 August).
About 11.45am, police were notified of the shotgun by an elderly man who was walking his dog along Kambah Pool Road. The shotgun was wrapped in three plastic bags and partly buried in a shallow trench about 30 metres into the scrub opposite the Murrumbidgee Country Club.
A shotgun shell was found approximately 10 metres from where the shotgun was buried.
A line search was conducted encompassing approximately 500 square metres and the area around the weapon site was searched again using shovels.
"The government continues to be incapable of being transparent, lacks real listening skills and is unable to take residents with them on how such necessary developments could happen, says Canberra Matters columnist PAUL COSTIGAN.
