Peter Tegart to run Queanbeyan

council chambers

MAYOR Tim Overall says Peter Tegart will be the next General Manager of Queanbeyan City Council.

Mr Tegart will commence his employment with Queanbeyan City Council on 6 July 2015.

“Mr Tegart has extensive experience in senior management and local government,” Tim said.

“During the period 2008-2013 Peter Tegart held the position of General Manager, Bega Valley Shire Council prior to taking up a senior position in the Australian Public Service. Mr Tegart has a very strong track record in local government in NSW with more than 16 years experience – having also held the position of Deputy General Manager Eurobodalla Shire Council 1997-2008.

“Council is pleased to appoint Mr Tegart to the role of General Manager and I look forward to working closely with him over the coming years.

“This is a very important period for local government in NSW and I am confident the skills and expertise of Mr Tegart will place Queanbeyan City Council in good stead.”

Former Queanbeyan City Council General Manager, Mr Hugh Percy has been acting in the position since September 2014 when former General Manager Gary Chapman resigned.
