THE annual $7500 Clearwater Sculpture Prize on the banks of the Queanbeyan River is coming up (October 28 -30), along with the annual Queanbeyan River Festival on October 29 and the popular Queanbeyan Palerang Art Trail, October 30.

THE dynamic Nicholas Milton intends to finish this year off with a bang as he conducts the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and virtuoso pianist Kristian Chong for the Llewellyn Series “Tchaikovsky” concerts on November 3-4, featuring works by Nigel Westlake, Rachmaninov and, of course, Tchaikovsky.

IN “Death and Glory” SCUNA, the ANU Choral Society led by Leonard Weiss, will be performing Richard Maunder’s completion of Mozart’s “Requiem”. This relatively recent completion utilises all-Mozart material in terms of orchestration and recently-discovered sketches of an “Amen” fugue. At Wesley Uniting Church, Forrest, 7.30pm, November 5. CANBERRA theatre-maker Zsuzsi Soboslay has created “Anthems and Angels: The Compassion Plays”, which in part relate to the refugee condition.
