Beware the deadly button batteries of the Actsmart shower timers

shower timer

THE Environment and Planning Directorate has issued a product safety message about Actsmart branded digital shower timers that were handed out at a number of community events, workshops and home energy program visits.

“The shower timers are packaged with a loose button battery, which if swallowed could cause harm,” an EPD spokesperson said.

“The issue is only around the battery packaging, and no safety issues have been identified with the product itself.

“Community members who have received an Actsmart Household branded digital shower timer should be aware of the potential hazard.

“Consumers should promptly install the battery as per the packaging instructions.

“Anyone wishing to return their timer can do so at the Environment and Planning Directorate shopfront at 16 Challis Street Dickson.
