Drug charges arise from raid in Wright

A 36-year-old man was arrested on drug related charges after police executed a search warrant in Wright, yesterday (Monday, 13 June 2016).

Around 9.45am, Woden Patrol apprehended the man after he was acting suspiciously and located in possession of Valium and drug paraphernalia. Further investigations revealed that the man had involvements relating to trafficking of methylamphetamine. Subsequently, a DODA search warrant was obtained.

About 7.30pm Woden Patrol and Criminal Investigations members entered a house in Wright, where they seized 50 grams of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine, another substance believed to be amphetamine, cannabis, additional drug paraphernalia and a sum of cash.

The man was taken to the ACT Watch House, where he was charged with possessing a prohibited substance.

He will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday, 14 June).
