International reports suggest this is part of an international campaign of hoaxes for no known purpose at this time.
UPDATE: The Education Directorate has sent this statement to parents:
You may have heard a small number of ACT public schools received a threatening phone call today. This follows similar incidents that occurred yesterday with five schools evacuated.
Curtin Primary School, Calwell High School, and Canberra High School received threatening telephone calls today. ACT Policing attended all sites, investigated the threats and confirmed it was safe for students and staff to return to normal classes.
School staff and students have again responded exceptionally well to the emergency situation and we commend them for their swift action to ensure everyone was safe.
We continue to take incidents of this type extremely seriously and implement our procedures to ensure schools are able to return to a safe learning environment as soon as possible.
If parents and carers have any concerns or require further information, please contact your school. Counselling support is available for all students and staff.
Police advised that they are aware of similar incidents in a number of schools in other states around Australia.
