The spinners and weavers gear up for their big day

The Canberra Spinners and Weavers are putting on their big display day on May 13-15 at their Ainslie headquarters.

“There’s lots to see and do at SWATHE, our autumn display and sale,” a spokesperson said.

“Watch our members dye colourful fibres, spin the finest yarns, weave beautiful fabrics, make stylish garments, throws and grannie rugs.

“Join in, have a go at spinning, rug making, weaving, knitting, crochet.

“Enjoy the texture, colour and beauty of the fibres and yarns.

“Bring the children along – they too can have a go.

“Don’t miss seeing the exquisite handmade garments, accessories, shawls, hats, bags and rugs that we’re famous for. Most will be for sale.

“Stock up on winter woollies: Socks, hats and scarves from our sales table. Relax with friends over a cuppa.

You can find them at Kurrajong in a ‘battleaxe’ block corner of Angas and Sherbrooke Sts, Ainslie.
