“VoteCanberra” was removed from the ACT’s register of political parties, today (June 9), making it the second party to cancel registration in the last two weeks.
“LIKE Canberra” removed itself on May 26 with its registration cancelled at the request of the party.
The cancellation of “VoteCanberra” was also cancelled at the request of the party. “VoteCanberra” was set up by three Canberrans, Bruce Paine, Tim Field and Mark Parsons, who had no policy platform but an aspiration to bring democracy back to politics.
10 parties remain registered in the ACT, including:
- Animal Justice Party
- Australian Labor Party (ACT Branch)
- Australian Sex Party ACT
- Canberra Community Voters
- Liberal Democratic Party
- Liberal Party of Australia (A. C. T. Division)
- Sustainable Australia (ACT)
- The ACT Greens
- The Community Alliance Party (ACT)
- The Flux Party – ACT
