Jones’ push to take portaloo access seriously

Share Canberra's trusted news:

MORE portaloos will be deployed at fire emergency incidents in and around the ACT says shadow minister for Police and Emergency Services Giulia Jones.

Mrs Jones lobbied the government in March this year, asking it to provide portaloos to Staging Areas at fire incidents following reports that fire fighters had no access to toilet facilities even when on shift for up to seven hours.

“I was pleased to hear the Emergency Services Minister Mick Gentleman confirm in Estimates Hearings that more portaloos will now be deployed to more fires across the ACT,” she says.

“I welcome the Minister’s admission and I am glad the ESA is finally taking this fundamental responsibility seriously.”
