Crash leaves woman critical and cattle dead

A WOMAN is in a critical condition at Canberra Hospital and about eight cattle were killed after a truck and car collided on Braidwood Road, about 2km east of Tarago. 

The woman, who was in her 60s was airlifted to hospital after the crash, which occurred at about 12.50pm, today, April 10.

The truck driver was uninjured and he has been taken to Goulburn Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

About eight cattle in the truck were killed in the accident or euthanised by Primary Industries personnel following the crash.

The crash scene continues to be examined by forensic specialists.

The road is expected to open within the hour.
