FIREFIGHTERS are working to extinguish a small fire at the National Gallery on Bowen Drive in Barton.
The building has been evacuated.
FIREFIGHTERS are currently cutting open the ducting to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
The fire, which started because of a
build-up of saw dust in a machine at the back of the gallery, is not-suspicious.
ACT Fire & Rescue is conducting atmospheric monitoring to ensure the area is safe and will shortly allow people back into the building.
Crews will remain on scene for about another hour.
