Fitzharris rejects ‘lavish’ lunch taunt

SHADOW Health Minister Vicki Dunne has criticised Health Minister Meegan Fitzharris for what she characterises as her hosting a “lavish leadership lunch” in the midst of an ACT Health crisis.

Vicki Dunne.
Ms Dunne says that in a response to a Question on Notice, Ms Fitzharris confirmed almost $24,000 was spent to host a lunch for 139 health leaders at the National Museum on August 14. Of this, $9500 was spent on a keynote speaker.

Not so, says a spokesman for ACT Health, who rejects the lunch accusation saying  the event was an all-day workshop for senior leaders across ACT Health and “in fact the Minister had no involvement in this workshop.”

“This was an event organised by ACT Health and had no ministerial involvement. It was an incredibly beneficial event and we make no apologies for it,” he says.
