Hoodied man spotted near suspicious house fire

A WITNESS has told the police of seeing a man walk from the Griffith shops towards Throsby Court a short time before a fire was started at a home in Stuart Street, Narrabundah.

Police are investigating what they believe is a suspicious fire that occurred at about 11.40pm last night (Saturday, March 31) which, despite the best efforts of ACT Fire and Rescue, resulted in damage to a carport and shed.

The witness saw the man leave the location, walking along a driveway in a southerly direction towards Gowrie Court.

The man is described as about 183cm (6′) tall, of slim build, wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has information that could assist police to call 1800 333000 or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
