School children approached by strange man

POLICE are reminding the community of the importance of “stranger safety” after a number of primary school aged children in the Belconnen area have been approached by a man in a white sedan.

Police have increased their presence in Melba, Flynn and Fraser after receiving multiple reports of a man approaching students before and after school.

The man is described as 30-40 years old, with short dark hair and tattoos on his arms and chest.

His car has been described as small white four door sedan that possibly has black louvers on the rear window.

Any information that could assist police to 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website using reference number 6238953.
