Tammy decides it’s time to leave the RSPCA

AFTER four years as CEO, Tammy Ven Dange has resigned from the RSPCA ACT. She will finish with the organisation on June 30.

“My heart will always be with the RSPCA and the difficult, but fantastic work that the team does for animals in need in the ACT,” she says.

“I know that I am leaving the organisation in safe hands with a fantastic leadership team in place right now.

“The last four years have been some of the hardest and most rewarding times that I have had in my career.  My passion for the mission and the animals in our care has not diminished in any way, but I feel that it is a good time for both the organisation to seek new leadership and for me to move on to other challenges.

“I will sincerely miss the amazing people and animals that I have met in this role, and I feel so privileged to have been its steward.

“By the time that I leave at the end of the financial year, we will have seen the strengthening of the Animal Welfare Act, four years of financial surplus, the end of greyhound racing, a 90 per cent rehoming rate across all species for the first time, and seeing an increase of community support and interest in animal welfare in the ACT.”

RSPCA ACT president, Jeff Butler says the board has appreciated her insight, advice and experience in helping to shape our organisational strategy, and is confident that Tammy will be highly successful in whatever she next chooses to do.
