Labor promises to complete theatre precinct plans

WITHOUT promising to build it, the design work and business case for a new Canberra Theatre precinct will be completed under a re-elected Labor government.

Chief Minister Andrew Barr says Labor will also deliver the Kingston Arts Precinct, with detailed design work already underway, to provide new purpose-built facilities for Canberra’s visual arts organisations.

The party will also spend $2 million in upgrades to the Tuggeranong Arts Centre and spend  $8 million on Gorman House to enhance accessibility, safety and energy efficiency and commence major heritage restorations in time for the centre’s 100th birthday in 2024.
