Man escapes abduction in Latham

A VICTIM received serious injuries when two men attempted to tie him up and put him in the back of a silver Holden ute in Latham on Friday (September 4). 

The victim, a man, was allegedly assaulted at about 9.20am at Latham shops by the two men.

Police say the two men attempted to tie up the victim before trying to place him in the back of a the ute.

He resisted their attempts and was treated at the scene by ACT Ambulance Service paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A 49-year-old Spence man was arrested on Saturday and will face the ACT Magistrates Court on charges including aggravated robbery (in company), intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, attempted unlawful confinement, and theft.

Investigations are ongoing.
