Visitors to NSW club are legally required to quarantine

UNDER a legal direction, Canberrans are being strongly advised to self-quarantine if they’ve been to a club in Campbelltown over the weekend.

Anybody who was at the West Leagues Club in Campbelltown between 8pm on Friday, July 10, to 12am, Saturday, July 11, and between 12am and 2.30am on Sunday, July 12, to self-isolate immediately and get tested for COVID-19 as soon as possible, even if people don’t have any symptoms.

“If you were at the West Leagues Club at the above times and you get a COVID-19 test, please stay at home until you get your results,” say ACT Health.

“If your test is negative you are not required to stay in self-isolation, but if you develop any COVID-19 symptoms you should get tested again. This advice is in line with the advice from NSW Health.”

ACT residents are also being reminded not to travel to areas where COVID-19 outbreaks are occurring in NSW such as the Liverpool and Campbelltown areas of Sydney, where these clusters of cases are.

The health direction, which came into place at midday yesterday, legally requires anyone who has been in the affected locations identified by NSW Health, to self-quarantine for 14 days from the date they were there, even if they do not have any symptoms.

Other affected locations include:

  • Crossroads Hotel in Casula – between Friday, July 3 to Friday, July 10.
  • Planet Fitness in Casula – between Saturday, July 4 and Friday, July 10.
  • Picton Hotel in Picton – on Saturday, July 4, Sunday, July 5, Thursday, July 9or Friday, July 10.

People who visited these locations on the specified dates are asked to get in contact with ACT Health through the COVID-19 Helpline on 6207 7244.

There have been no new cases of COVID-19 recorded in the ACT in the past 24 hours, leaving the ACT’s total at 113. There are still five active cases in the ACT.

The number of negative tests in the ACT is now 40,420.
