‘Lockdown is working’, eight covid cases, says Barr

ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr.

“THE lockdown is working,” ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr told this morning’s daily covid media conference and reported Canberra had eight newscases to 8pm last night . All cases were linked and none were infectious in the community.

This comes in contrast to NSW this morning reporting a record high of 825 cases, the highest single number of any Australian state or territory and regional Victoria returning to lockdown this afternoon after the state reported 61 new cases, with concern about new cases in Shepparton.

Mr Barr said there had been 4683 tests completed yesterday.

Police were reporting that public compliance was excellent. They had conducted 800 traffic stops and enforced 11 directions to leave the ACT.
