Man faces sex-without-consent charge

A 54-year-old Campbell man has been charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent following an incident last weekend.

Police searched the man’s residence at Ainslie Village yesterday (December 10) and arrested him soon after.

Police allege the man encountered a heavily intoxicated woman in Glebe Park in the early hours of Sunday morning (December 5), took her to his residence in Ainslie Village and had sexual intercourse with her while she was unable to provide consent.

Anyone with information should call 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
