Man found with 60cm machete

POLICE found illegal drugs and a 60cm machete in a car that they stopped on Campbell Street, Queanbeyan, last night (August 2). 

Police pulled over a 25-year-old man at about 7.30pm and allege a later search revealed he was in possession of a small resealable bag containing a prohibited drug.

An additional search of the man’s vehicle revealed a number of resealable bags containing more prohibited drugs and a 60cm black machete.

The man was taken to Queanbeyan Police Station where he was charged with possession and supply of a prohibited drug and custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and will face charges at the Queanbeyan Local Court.
