A STEADY stream of cars are lining up at the city’s showground testing clinic as Queanbeyan enters its second full day of lockdown.
Drivers began queuing at the Laverty Pathology testing clinic at the showground from 7am this morning (August 16).
The drive-through testing clinic, one of 44 operated by Laverty across the state, was closed for part of the weekend.
A traffic management worker at the site said the flow of cars was “steady” and he expected “larger lines” as the day progressed.
But wait times have reduced significantly after days of high demand. Hundreds of residents turned out at the showground testing site on Thursday and Friday following news of the outbreak in the ACT.
The take up rate at the NSW government’s new testing clinic at Seiffert Oval wasn’t as great this morning.
At 8.30am it was unusually quiet, but a traffic management worker said 350 tests were conducted yesterday, and he anticipated line-ups later in the day.
NSW Health opened the drive-through facility over the weekend.
