A NEW covid vaccination hub at Gold Creek is taking bookings ahead of its opening by week’s end.
Kenolta Medical Practice principal Dr Joe Oguns says the new service has come in response to the Nichols’ practice experiencing a spike in demand for COVID-19 vaccination, with patients coming from the south side of Canberra.
Caught unawares, he says, the practice quickly exhausted its routine weekly doses within 24 hours of the ACT lockdown beginning last week.
“As a result we made a request for an emergency supply of a large number of doses. The Commonwealth supply chain has responded very quickly and we expect the arrival of stock within the next 48 hours for a mass roll out by the end of this week,” he says.
The dedicated vaccination hub is at 11/34-38 O’Hanlon Place, Nicholls (opposite MacDonald’s Gold Creek) and, subject to patient bookings, will cater for more than 120 vaccinations a day. It will dispense Astrazeneca vaccine.
Online appointments can be made at kenolta.com.au or by phone to 5104 3966.
