Omicron close contact detected with covid

OF the seven new covid cases confirmed by ACT Health today (December 4), one is a close contact of the first case of the Omicron variant in Canberra, which was reported late yesterday.

Genomic sequencing is currently underway.

There are 119 active cases of COVID-19 in the ACT to 8pm last night.

Meanwhile, none of the six people in hospital with covid symptoms is on a ventilator. However, three of the six are in intensive care.
