Three in intensive care as covid hospital list grows

Chief Minister Andrew Barr.

THREE of 12 people in hospital with covid in the ACT are now in intensive care, according to ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr.

Eleven of these people are unvaccinated with one of them receiving one dose of a vaccination.

The news comes after the territory recorded 12 new covid cases in the past 24 hours.

Six of them are linked to already known cases, four are under investigation and two of them have no known links at this stage.

Of the 12, two were in quarantine during their entire infectious period, six were infectious in the community and two are under investigation.

Testing numbers were 2262 yesterday, which Mr Barr says needs to lift.

He urges people to continue to check exposure sites to see if they need to get tested.

He also encourages people to come forward and get tested as soon as possible if they are experiencing any covid symptoms.

Police yesterday conducted 285 traffic stops and told five people to leave the ACT.
