Woman hit man with car on Mt Ainslie lookout

AN 18-year-old Calwell woman hit a man with a car, leaving him with critical injuries at Mount Ainslie lookout, according to police.

Police say they were called to the Mount Ainslie lookout on June 3 – around 11.30pm – following reports a man had been hit by a car.

The 26-year-old man was found lying on the road and was taken to Canberra Hospital.

A police investigation identified the 18-year-old woman as the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident.

Police say the woman will face court today (November 22) on charges of negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, and failing to give assistance after the collision.
