THE Royal Czech Ballet will be at Canberra Theatre with its production of “Swan Lake”, September 18-20.

“INSTRUCTIONS for Survival” is the latest film in Stronger Than Fiction documentary festival. In Georgian and Russian with English subtitles. Dendy Cinemas, 3pm, Sunday, September 18 and 6.30pm, Friday, September 23.

  • TUGGERANONG Arts Centre has the official opening of Danny Jarratt’s painting and video game show, “Neo Glitch City,”  “Watching Me, Watching You” by Jemima Campey and “Gorgeous Shadow, Bent Dream” by Tom Campbell, Joanne Leong, Jacquie Meng and Genie Stuart. 3pm, Saturday, September 17, all welcome. Then the exhibitions continue until October 29.
  • BELCO Arts have new exhibitions opening this Friday at 6pm: Kerry Martin’s exhibition “More Than Words” about the 2018 Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety; and honours the voices of those affected; “Traces VI,” an open exhibition; and “Story Clusters,” an exploration of the self through hand stitching and trapunto application.
  • ACT Embroiderers’ Guild is celebrating its 60th birthday with its big annual exhibition, featuring work from members, a cafe, gift shop, recycled embroidery and crafting supplies. Albert Hall, 10am-4pm, September 16-18.

  • AUSTRALIAN soprano Miriam Allan returns to town with one of Australia’s foremost exponents of the fortepiano, Erin Helyard to help celebrate Wesley Music Centre’s 20th Anniversary Concert – “Weavers of Song.” At the centre, Forrest, 7.30pm, Saturday, September 17.
  • CANBERRA Choral Society’s 70th anniversary concert, “Attune,” to be conducted by Dan Walker, will feature the world premiere of two new works for choir and chamber orchestra commissioned from Ella Macens and Michael Dooley. Canberra Girls Grammar School Hall, Deakin 7.30pm, Saturday, September 17.
  • SHORTIS & Simpson return with their latest edition of “Under the Influence,” based on the musical influences of a special guest, this time bluesy singer, songwriter and harmonica player DJ Gosper. Smith’s Alternative, 6pm, Saturday September 17.
  • MUSIC for Canberra celebrates the end of Term 3 with its annual dress-up concert at the Ainslie Arts Centre main hall, 9.30am-12.30pm, Saturday, September 17.
  • MUSICA da Camera returns with a program of lesser-known gems of the string orchestra repertoire by Bartok, Delius, Volkmann, Glazunov and Carl Nielsen. Holy Covenant Anglican Church, Cook, 2.30pm, Saturday, September 17 and Soldiers Memorial Hall, Gundaroo, 2.30pm, Sunday, September 18.
  • LIMESTONE Consort will perform in Haydn Hall, St Christopher’s Cathedral, 2.30pm, Sunday, September 18.
  • THE Fringe of Squaredom will perform an afternoon concert of exclusively Australian jazz in the Tuggeranong Arts Centre theatre at 4pm, Sunday, September 18, 4pm.
