Burnouts, arrests and vehicles seized

POLICE seized three vehicles in Mitchell and arrested two people and dispersed a large crowd in Fyshwick last night (January 6).

At the first incident, around 10.40pm police responded to reports of a large crowd that had gathered on Canberra Avenue, Fyshwick.

Two people were arrested and charged with breach of the peace and the crowd dispersed.

Separately, police seized three vehicles following burnouts near Exhibition Park.

Police say they have a zero tolerance for anti-social behaviour and hoon driving, and that any driver caught speeding excessively, doing burnouts or street racing risks losing their vehicle immediately and faces serious penalties.

Police are urging drivers to enjoy the SummerNats weekend safely and to keep burnouts to the competition area.
