Calwell house fire takes life

A PERSON has died after a structure fire at a residence on Duggan Street last night (June 7).

About 10.00pm last night, ACT Police and ACT Fire & Rescue received reports of a house fire with a possible person inside in Calwell.

Despite efforts of neighbours, police officers and firefighters, the person was unable to be saved.

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A report is being prepared for the coroner.
