FIFTY people have been in Canberra hospitals with COVID-19 this week, the lowest number so far recorded in the weekly covid report.

Of the 50 people, one is in intensive care but does not require ventilation.

Last week 53 people were in hospital with the virus, and 55 the week prior.

It comes as 657 new cases of covid were recorded with 235 detected via PCR and 422 via RAT.

There are 421 active cases of the virus.

On the vaccination front 60.2 per cent of Canberrans, aged 50 and over, have received their fourth covid jab.
