KRISTY McBain, the federal member for the seat of Eden-Monaro, and her immediate family have tested positive for COVID-19.
“We all have varying symptoms and are definitely feeling the effects daily,” she writes on social media.
“We had to rely on the generosity of a friend who dropped off a rapid test before we got a confirmation PCR test.
“Our healthcare workers are doing an amazing job, but they are overwhelmed with testing and many people are waiting in line for hours to keep their end of the deal, which was to take personal responsibility and get tested. We need these rapid tests to be free and accessible across the country.
“Businesses and communities across Eden-Monaro (and across the country) were looking forward to an Australian summer of holidays, family and friends, fun and laughter. For so many this is again another season of isolation, missed economic activity and waiting.”
