New covid death in southern NSW

A MAN in his 60s, from Eurobodalla, has died from covid, the Southern NSW Local Health District reported today (January 23).

He is one of the 10 deaths the District has recorded since June. 

There were 322 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in southern NSW in the 24 hours to 8pm yesterday; 205 were detected by PCR tests and 117 cases by rapid antigen tests. Nineteen people are in hospital, including two in intensive care. 

Of the 205 cases confirmed by PCR tests, there were:

  • 31 in Bega Valley 
  • 18 in Eurobodalla 
  • 37 in Goulburn Mulwaree. 
  • 92 in Queanbeyan Palerang. 
  • 13 in Snowy Monaro.
  • 8 in Upper Lachlan. 
  • 6 in Yass Valley.
